The Moving Edit

Why pay to move things you don't want? Before the big day we declutter room by room, sell and donate what's not coming, and box the rest, labelled by room, ready for the van. Arrive at the new place already sorted.

The Family Edit

Playrooms, toy rotations, outgrown clothes sorted by age and bagged for resale or hand-me-downs. Toddler chaos, contained.

The Anything Edit

Garages, lofts, under-stairs cupboards, home offices, paperwork mountains. If it's a space that makes you sigh, it's a space we can edit.

Questions

Good question. Quick answer.

Yes. Regular customers are matched with one cleaner who comes every visit, so they learn exactly how you like things. If they're ever away, we'll offer you a vetted cover cleaner first.

No. Your cleaner brings the full Klea kit: thoughtfully chosen surface, floor and kitchen products that are plant-based and safe around children and pets once dry, plus a professional-grade toilet cleaner — because proper sanitation matters. Every home gets the same products, the same finish, and the same fresh result.

Your first visit is a reset clean, charged at our one-off rate. First cleans genuinely take longer because we're bringing your home up to the Klea standard for the first time. From visit two, your weekly or fortnightly rate applies and stays there.

We'll never rush, and we'll never silently skip things either. Your cleaner works your priority list to the full standard for the hours booked. If your home realistically needs more time, we'll tell you after your first visit and you choose: add hours, or keep your time and rotate priorities each visit.

Yes, we call it a Team Clean. You pay for the same cleaner-hours (a 4-hour clean is 4 cleaner-hours whether one person takes 4 hours or two take 2), plus a £10 team supplement. Perfect for deep cleans, big homes, and anyone who wants their house back by lunchtime.

Reschedule or cancel free of charge until midday the day before your clean. After that, a 50% fee applies, and if your cleaner arrives but can't get in, the full price applies. Your cleaner has reserved that time for you, so this protects their earnings.

Tick them when you book and they're done within the same visit for the flat prices on the menu. Add-ons add a little time to the visit rather than eating into your cleaning hours, so your home never gets less care because you fancied a clean oven. Add or remove them clean by clean.

None. You can pause, change or cancel your cleans any time up to midday the day before, free of charge. We'd rather earn your loyalty than lock it in.

Thornton-Cleveleys, Poulton-le-Fylde, Bispham, Lytham, St Annes and the surrounding Fylde Coast. Pop your postcode in the price box and we'll confirm instantly.

Tell us within 24 hours and we'll re-clean the areas in question free of charge. Every clean is photographed and rated, so issues are rare and fixed fast.

Why does Fylde Coast water leave so much limescale, and what actually works?

By the Klea team · Thornton-Cleveleys
← Back to the journal

If you've ever wondered why your kettle, shower screen and taps seem to get crusty white deposits no matter how often you clean them, you're not imagining it, and you're not doing anything wrong. It's the water.

Why the Fylde Coast specifically?

Lancashire sits in a moderately hard water area, and across Blackpool, Thornton-Cleveleys, Poulton and the wider Fylde, the water supply carries a noticeably higher mineral content than you'd find in, say, parts of Scotland or the South West. That mineral content, mostly calcium and magnesium, is what limescale actually is. Every time water evaporates on a surface, a thin layer of mineral gets left behind. Do that every single day in a shower or kettle, and it builds fast.

The water isn't dirty, and your home isn't dirty either. It's just chemistry, and it happens to every single house in the area, including ours.

Where it shows up worst

  • Kettles and coffee machines — anything that heats water repeatedly accelerates the build-up dramatically
  • Shower screens and showerheads — constant water contact plus warmth is the perfect combination
  • Taps and tap bases — especially anywhere water sits and dries rather than being wiped immediately
  • Toilet bowls — the waterline ring that won't budge with ordinary cleaner is almost always limescale, not staining

What actually works (and what doesn't)

Generic all-purpose sprays mostly don't touch limescale because it needs something acidic to dissolve the minerals, not something that just lifts dirt. Here's what genuinely works:

  • White vinegar is the cheapest effective option. Soak a cloth, wrap it round taps and showerheads, leave for 30 minutes, wipe away
  • A dedicated limescale remover works faster on heavy build-up, but always check it's safe for the surface first, particularly on chrome and brushed finishes
  • Regular wiping after use is the unglamorous truth: drying surfaces immediately after water contact stops the deposit forming in the first place

The bit most people get wrong

Scrubbing harder doesn't help with limescale the way it does with grease or grime. Limescale needs to be chemically dissolved, not physically scraped off, and aggressive scrubbing on chrome or glass can actually scratch the surface and make future build-up stick even faster.

We deal with this in every Fylde Coast home, every week

Our Klea Plus and Full Edit cleans include a proper limescale treatment on taps, showerheads and glass, so you never have to think about it.

How sea air affects your home on the Fylde Coast (and how often to clean because of it)

By the Klea team · Fylde Coast
← Back to the journal

Living close to the Irish Sea is one of the best things about Blackpool, Bispham, Cleveleys and Fleetwood. It's also quietly demanding on your home in ways people moving from inland towns don't always expect.

Salt travels further than you'd think

Sea spray carries fine salt particles on the wind, and on a breezy Fylde Coast day, that salt can travel a surprising distance inland, settling invisibly on windows, door handles, metal railings and outdoor furniture. You won't usually see it happen. You'll just notice your windows look hazy again two weeks after you cleaned them, or that outdoor metal fittings seem to corrode faster than they did at your last house.

What it actually affects

  • Windows and glass doors — salt residue dries to a fine film that catches the light and looks streaky even when "clean"
  • Metal fixtures — door handles, railings, garden furniture and car trim corrode faster near the coast
  • Paintwork — exterior paint on the seafront side of a property typically needs refreshing more often
  • Soft furnishings near open windows — a faint salty, slightly damp smell can build up in fabric over a coastal winter
If you've moved to the coast from inland, the honest advice is: clean glass and metal about twice as often as you think you need to.

How often is actually sensible

For homes within a mile or so of the seafront in Bispham, Cleveleys or Fleetwood, a fortnightly external window wipe-down keeps the haze from building up. For homes further inland in Poulton or Thornton, monthly is usually plenty. Metal fixtures benefit from an occasional wipe with a barely damp cloth rather than leaving salt to sit and dry repeatedly.

The good news

None of this is expensive or difficult to manage, it's just different to what you're used to if you've moved from inland. A little more frequent attention to glass and metal, and the Fylde Coast air does the rest, including being genuinely lovely to live in.

We factor coastal living into every clean

Our Klea Plus package includes inside window cleaning as standard, so the coastal haze never gets the chance to build up.

Moving to Thornton-Cleveleys? Here's what new residents always ask us

By the Klea team · Thornton-Cleveleys
← Back to the journal

We meet a lot of people in their first few weeks in a new Fylde Coast home, usually because their first booking with us is a moving-in deep clean. Here are the questions that come up again and again.

"Is it actually a nice place to live?"

Genuinely, yes. Thornton-Cleveleys sits on the Fylde Coast between Blackpool and Fleetwood, with the promenade a short walk from most of the town, good local schools, and a noticeably quieter pace than Blackpool itself while still being a few minutes' drive from everything there. Families tend to gravitate toward the streets nearer Victoria Road West and the areas closer to Anchorsholme Park.

"Which bin day is which?"

Wyre Council runs the bin collections here, alternating general waste and recycling fortnightly, with garden waste on its own separate fortnightly cycle. Collection days vary street by street, so it's worth checking your exact address on the Wyre Council website rather than going by what a neighbour tells you, since adjoining streets sometimes differ.

"What's the water like?"

Moderately hard, which surprises people moving from softer water areas. You'll likely notice limescale building up faster on kettles and shower screens than you're used to. We've written a full guide on that if you want the detail.

"Where do locals actually shop and eat?"

Victoria Road West is the heart of the town for independent shops and cafes, and there's a good Tesco and the retail park near the Stanah Road area for the weekly essentials. Most new residents end up surprised by how much is genuinely walkable.

"Is it worth getting a cleaner straight away, or waiting?"

Honestly, the most common thing we hear is "I wish we'd booked the deep clean before we moved our furniture in, not after." Whatever the previous owners' standards, a proper deep clean before your first night, especially kitchen and bathroom, makes the whole move feel like a fresh start rather than someone else's leftover home.

The first clean in a new home isn't really about dirt. It's about making somewhere that was someone else's start feeling like yours.

"Do you only clean Thornton-Cleveleys?"

No, we cover the whole Fylde Coast: Cleveleys, Poulton-le-Fylde, Bispham, Fleetwood, Lytham and St Annes. Wherever you've landed, we're probably already cleaning someone on your street.

The cleaning schedule that keeps St Annes & Lytham hosts at 5 stars

By the Klea team · Lytham St Annes
← Back to the journal

If you host a holiday let on the Fylde Coast, you already know cleanliness is the single most common reason for a dropped star rating, and one bad review can sit on your listing depressing your bookings for months. Here's the routine that protects against it.

The same-day changeover is non-negotiable

With a 10am checkout and 3pm check-in, the gap is genuinely tight, and rushing is exactly when things get missed. The fix isn't rushing harder, it's having a fixed checklist that gets followed in the same order every single time, so nothing depends on memory under time pressure.

What guests actually notice (and it's not what hosts think)

  • The bathroom, every time, is the make-or-break room. A spotless bathroom buys forgiveness for almost anything else
  • Bed linen that looks and smells genuinely fresh, not just "changed" — a faint previous-guest smell is the fastest route to a bad review
  • Surfaces guests actually touch: remote controls, light switches, door handles. Guests notice these specifically because they're thinking about hygiene
  • Restocked basics: toilet roll, a couple of teabags, enough that nobody arrives to find the cupboard bare

The seasonal trap Fylde Coast hosts fall into

Summer season in St Annes and Lytham brings back-to-back bookings, sometimes same-day turnovers every single day for weeks. That's exactly when standards slip, because the same cleaner doing the same job under constant pressure starts cutting corners without realising it. The hosts who maintain 5 stars through August are the ones who've built in slack, either a second pair of hands on the busiest days or a slightly longer changeover window than feels strictly necessary.

The rating you have in March is the rating booking.com remembers in August, when you need it most. Standards can't dip just because demand goes up.

A photo report changes the conversation

If a guest ever does complain about cleanliness, having dated photos from your last changeover showing the home in question spotless is the single most useful thing you can have. It turns a he-said-she-said dispute into a five-second resolution.

What this means practically

A fixed checklist, a non-negotiable bathroom standard, attention to the small touch-points guests actually notice, and photographic proof of every changeover. Get those four things right consistently and the 5-star rating largely takes care of itself.

Same-day Airbnb changeovers across the Fylde Coast

Full clean, linen change, restock check and a photo report after every single turnover, 7 days a week.
